What's the appeal of Scientology?

What about if there were a religion that encourage you to observe and make up your own mind about things?

“To be happy one must be able to confront, which is to say, experience those things that are.”

“Unhappiness is only this: the inability to confront that which is.”

What about if there was religion that doesn’t ask for your faith but it has faith in you?

“Actually you are a giant tied down in cotton lint. You tied the knots and furnished the string and said where you’d lie.”

“Self-confidence alone is security. Your ability is your security. There is no security but you.”

“Nobody can do anything to you but you!”

“You are you own immortal soul.”

“Theta”: the Greek symbol that represents though. You are “Theta”. Theta is “Cause” and matter is “Effect”

What about if there was religion out there that believed is important to have dreams, fun and achieve happiness?

Scientology is an exact practice and a discipline to achieve personal observation thus achieving wisdom, thus achieving the ability to be your self.

The only thing that is wrong with you is that you are not your self.

“The only aberration is denial of self.”

Scientology means knowing how to know.

Scientology is the path to achieve wisdom via personal observation.

“All answers are simple.”

“The degree of simplicity is proportional to the degree of confront.”

“To the degree that man cannot confront he enters substitutes which, accumulating, bring about complexity.”

1) It has the questionable benefits of religion without the drawback of having to submit to a god.

2) It makes people feel special.

3) It promises super powers (seriously).

It works, that's what. It has tools that people can use to do better in every aspect of their lives, if they find that it's true for them. No "have to believe it" or "take my word for it". It either works for you or it doesn't.

It's not faith based. We don't have any rules that we "must" believe in without proof that it actually does what it's supposed to.  

For instance, an anti-social personality will accuse others of those things which he himself is doing.  Ever heard of that before?  Know of anyone in your life that says you're doing something that they did?

Just know that they don't have your best interests at heart when they do that.

Hmm... I think there's a lot of that in R & S if you need examples.
