I know it matters if there are red lights and stop and what not, but excluding that. 17 miles = how much time for a biker?

  1. me 50mins but my average speed is 22mph

  2. depends on an awful lot of variables. Age, fitness level, type of bike, terrain and so on and on.

I'm 58, ride a scott cycle and would allow 1 1/2 hours so that I didn't push myself. For me 12 mph is a good average speed including hills.

  3. it depends how fast the biker is going. bikers go at different speeds.

  4. I have a calculator, so if you tell me how fast the person can ride...I can tell you how long it will take them to go 17 miles.

For me on flat pavement with my mountain bike 1:00

For me on flat pavement with my road bike 0:48

For me in the woods with hills (MTB) just under 1:45 (or more)
