  1. I used to do judo and they taught us how to use other parts of our body to absorb some of the shock when being thrown but I'm not sure about being thrown from any great height, I think that would be just luck :)))

  2. It's called parachute

  3. no martial art teaches that several martial arts teach you how to fall properly such as judo, aikido, jiujitsu and such but thats not from extreme heights just from throws.

maybe you should check into gymnastics or parkour

  4. parkour not a martial art though

  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUusWhVn2...

Maybe Pentjak Silat, but these guys aren't doing such a good job of not getting hurt.

  6. ukemi- this is the japanese term used in judo and aikido for falling properly when thrown.

  7. WEAR A PARCHUTE

  8. umm i dont think thats a good way to describe it but what im thinking your meaning is called parklour, stick it in youtube and see if thats what you mean

  9. Uh, there is no martial art dedicated to just falling. Just about every martial art teaches you have to fall. Learn how to do break falls and rolls.

  10. From a great height sheer luck lol.

But seriously if its from a throw then, jiu-jitsu,judo and aikido will teach you to land safely.

    Best wishes :)***

  11. I believe that is called skydiving or parachuting.

  12. Luck.

Seriously, the Japanese term is "ukemi". Literally translated, it means "receiving body" but refers to a small handful of falling techniques that allow someone to dissipate the force of a throw and land without injury.

Ideally, one would probably prefer to roll out of a throw rather than fall, but each throw generally causes you to have to select a single technique. The rolls are nice because there's no sudden impact--you just keep going from the momentum of the throw.

  13. In Shaolin Kung Fu I believe there was a style called Ditang (aka groundboxing). The purpose of Ditang was to learn how to take falls and throws without being harmed.
