What's the art scene like in Melbourne?

I paint in oils, have exhibited in Spain and Italy with positive feedback and some sales (thank goodness), I think my stuff is quite unique...

Anyway, is it possible to make a bit of cash on the side (or perhaps be a full time artist) in Melbourne?
