In Japan the salary for an English teacher is about $2000 a month.  But Japan is a very expensive country to live in.

In the district I work in you would make whatever the pay scale was set at for your level of experience and education. So somewhere between 34k(B.A no exp.) and 65k (M.Ed national board certified 20+yrs exp).

If you are state certified where you teach- you make the same as the American teachers. In my state it is required you are certified to teach.  I think starting salary with a ba is around 45K...with 2 masters I make almost 90K
