What's the average growth rate of Discus fish?

Just wondering how fast I can expect them to grow.

Growth rate depends on a lot of factors including diet, tank size, frequency of water changes, etc. Under ideal conditions discus could grow from hatching to breeding size 7-8" in about 12-15 months.

Hi Duncan.

I usually find my discus grow at around 5mm a week until they're around 4 inches in length and then their growth starts to slow down a bit from there. It also depends on your tank size which applies to all tropical fish, the more room they have in there the better so ensure your tank is large enough without overcrowding with a lot of other fish.
