What's the average price of car insurance?

I'm 23 and thinking about buying a car but am weighing out the pros and cons.

I've had a licence for almost 5 years, drove for the first 2 and haven't driven since. I haven't made any claims that were my fault.

I'd like to buy a car in group one so can anyone tell me on average how much it will cost per year? Thanks

  3. no average price if u were to take 3 22 yr olds each wud b diffrent depending on how long they has licence any no claims? car type? engine? 3rd party ect lots to concider

  4. Jenny this is all I could find, without filling in my life story! :) I think the quotes are from May 2007 but might give you a rough idea!

    To get an idea how varying online car insurance can be, we filled out eleven online quote forms for Fully Comprehensive cover with ASDA, Churchill, Direct Line, Diamond, Elephant.co.uk, First Alternative, Halifax, Lloyds TSB, Norwich Union Direct, Swinton and Tesco.

    We based our quotes around four different people; a 22 year-old single female and male and a 30 year-old married female and male.

    This one was for  22 year old female.

    The following points were kept the same for all 4 applications:

    4 years Protected No Claims Bonus

    Car parked on street at night

    South East Address

    Occupation

    Between a £200 and £250 Voluntary Excess

    SP30 Speeding Conviction, July 2007

    Ford Fiesta 16V 5dr 2007
