  1. check lijefe: How would she know what a level 3 spin is. She just started!

Most teens will finish the basics in 2 years or so, and results vary from person to person. You'll need to skate at least  once a week in group lessons.

If you can afford a private coach, you will learn much faster.  I would recommed at least 2-3 lessons a week if you really want to excel.

Basic meaning - USFS basic 8

  2. i'm in basic level,, to be specific level 2 (alpha in ISI)..  but now i'm going to level 3..  i master 2 levels for almost 2 months.. but it really depends on how many lessons or session per week..  because i skate 3 or 2 days per week..

but my friend, she start ice skating and now she's in FS 1 or 2 maybe because in 2 months she's in level 4, cause she's skating almost everyday..

  3. it depends on so many things: your age, natural ability, how hard you work, how often you skate, what coaches you have, etc.

it also depends what you mean by basics.

for an example, i've been skating for five years and i can do all the single jumps and some double jumps. i skate twice a week.

  4. Hi!  I've been skating 1 time a week for 2 years.  I've had 20 minute private lessons for 1 year.  I'm at FS 4.  It's different for everybody.  It will probably be 1 or two months before you feel comfortable on ice (if you don't get private lessons).  1 month if you do group lessons and practice a couple times during the week.  Also From my experience it helps if you have a strict coach.  Good luck.  Also the faster you skate the less it hurts when you fall!  Have fun!

  5. I am an ice skater and i have been skating for 9 years now and to get the basics down if your a fast learner about 1 1/2 years but it could take a little while longer depending on how much you skate each week. Thats figuring you would only skate about 2-3 times a week with a private coach so you cold be in a one on one position instead of in a big group where they don't give that much individual attention. Good Luck!

  6. the basics consisting of what?

you know doubles jumps and some triples are considered basics.

basics meaning forward stroking? or basics meaning level 3 spins?
