what is the avrage golf score for a 13 year old?

im 13 years old and shoot about a 90 sometimes on a regulation golf course. i was wondering if that was an avrage score or over avrage.

my freind hes 13 too but he shoots about a 100 and he has very nice nike clubs.

i was also wondering what kind or golf clubs i should get. right now im useing a set of ram junior clubs and the problem with that is that i have barley any club choices. i added about 4 clubs to the bag i hit a 9 iron about 120. im 5ft. 1 and i need to know if new clubs will help me shoot in the mid to high 80's

my avrage putts per hole is bout a 1.8 and im an exclent short game player.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE..

  1. Short game and putting are everything my friend. I suggest you look into some used golf clubs, maybe some Taylormade's since they are quite forgiving. As you grow older you're going to want to transition into blades cause they give you more versatility. The used clubs you buy, whether it be Taylormade or not, will probably add some distance and accuracy.

    *I own Mizuno MP-60's.

  3. Lisa, you are doing quite well for your age.  My daughter was shooting in the 90s when she was 13.  She is now 15 and just shot 76 in a junior PGA event this weekend.  You are right at the age where we started getting her some scheduled lessons and the pro fitted her for better clubs.  She had been playing with US Kids clubs.  Keep practicing your short game - putting and chipping should be at least half of every practice time you have.  Good luck.

  4. 110

  5. It depends on how long they have been playing.   Most 13 year old players that I know of can't break 100.    Some who have played for years shoot in the 80's.

  6. i was 14 when i first starting golf, i shot around 110 100, now im 17 and shoot constant 70s, so just keep practicin

  7. Scores for all ages are really all over the board....No one has the time or need to establish a database to track and analyze what any age group shoots.  You say that you shoot @90 with 1.8 putts per hole and have an excellent short game.  Where are your strokes lost at?  I' d compile data to see where I was losing strokes and concentrate both practice and any club decisions based on that data.  Hope this helps....good luck and hit em straight.
