I understand that some people just want their privacy but does having your MySpace page set on private really prevent spammers and hackers as well? And having your profile open to the public make your page more vulnerable?

  1. I've noticed a great decrease in spammers when I "require captcha" on my various myspace settings options.  Private profiles are good if you don't want your boss to know that you're getting drunk every night, or your ex-wife to stalk you.  I haven't noticed a difference in public profile vs. private profile yielding any more or any less spam.  But if you go to settings and do the "require captcha" settings, then those automated spammers have a much more difficult time contacting you.

  2. THE REASON TO SET IT TO PRIVATE IS A COUPLE THINGS ONE U DON'T HAVE PEOPLE YOU DON'T KNOW LEARNING UR INFO AND SEEING WAT U LOOK LIKE AND TWO IF U DONT LIKE SOMEONE AND UR NOT CONNECTED TO THEM THEY CANT ADD OR SEE ANYTHING ABOUT U
