  1. The current Sony XBR 4 & 5 models have 8 ms LCD response times so these models DO NOT meet your requirements. The 2008 Sony large screen XBRs are not due to be released until October & I can never recommend a TV until I have seen the picture quality for myself.

The Samsung A650 & A750 produce the best images of the TVs you have listed. The XBR 4 & 5 are not as bright, do not have the best blacks, are not as sharp and Sony's Motion Flow (120 Hz) implementation produces more artifacts than any 120 Hz impelementation that I have seen or tested. I have not seen the LG Scarlet. Last year's LG's were no where near the quality of picture produced by Sony or Samsung.

  2. Well your looking at some of the best so your on the right track.

I recommend the Sony Bravia XBR.  This tv actually takes any signal (480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i) and upconverts it to 1080p.  This means that you will never have to suscribe to a HD package from your cable or satelite provider.

Sony also has the best image processor on the market which is the most important thing in a LCD.

2nd choice is the Samsung, last choice is the LG.
