What's the best 26-32 inch high def tv on the market in terms of picture quality?

I hear Sony Bravia had good colour, but I'm looking for something under 1000 bucks in a 28 inch roughly. I know Pioneer and Panasonic are probably the best, but they're around 1200 bucks. Anyways...any suggestions?

The two top LCD brands in 26" and 32", for both performance and reliability, are Panasonic Viera and Sony Bravia. You can get both for well under $1200. A little less expensive, but a quality brand in LCD is Toshiba followed, perhaps, by Sharp and Samsung.

Pioneer is a high quality TV mfg., but makes large plasma displays. Go with Panasonic or Sony if you can in a 32".
