  1. Use this site to help you see what will fit and good luck.

  2. Actually, 3 of Britax's convertibles - Marathon, Boulevard, and Decathalon - are exactly the same size. They are in fact the same seat shell, just with different features. They all 3 rear face to 33lbs, and forward to 65lbs. They can also be tethered rear facing. The top slots are about 17" tall. You can compare the different features of the 3 on Britax website:

The other 2 - Roundabout and Diplomat - are somewhat smaller, but that comes with a drawback: they rear face to 33lbs but only forward face to 40lbs, so it will not last your child nearly as long as the Marathon/Boulevard/Decathalon will. The Roundabout only has 15.5" top slots, and since most kids outgrow a seat that height before age 4, that's worth mentioning since it will put you out buying another harnessed seat at that time.

For the price, to me, the Roundabout, and significantly more expensive Diplomat, are not at all worth it. But that's coming from a single mom on a very limited budget - fewer seats the better! If you have no problem with getting another harnessed seat later, like a Regent or Graco Nautilus, once your chidl outgrows the Roundabout, than it could be a good choice for you. I have a tiny 2 door Honda Civic and the Marathon fit fine both rear and forward facing. Remember that with older babies who can sit up and have good head control, they no longer have to be at a 45 degree recline in the car, but can be anywhere from 30-45 degrees. Since the convertible can be more uprigtht than the infant seat, it will take up less room. So, if you previously fit an infant carrier in your vehicle, you will have no trouble fitting a rear facing Marathon in it. And that's one of things the Britax seats are most known for - being almost universal in how they fit. Its one of the few (uh-only?!) car seats out there that fits darn near every vehicle its tried in. This is b/c of the way the base is shaped. My back seat has ridges around each seating position, making some seats not fit will at all, and it has little cubbies at the sides, and the MArathon did great b/c of that base. So, really, its up to you to choose the features you want. Some differences:

The MArathon only has one crotch buckle position

The Boulevard has infinite adjust dial taht you turn to adjust harness height, easy to use.

The Boulevard has true side impact protection: caution however, some kids HATE it!

The Marathon has the most cover choices

The Decathalon has easy to use push button to loosen harness.

There is about 3" of difference betwee the height of the shell on the Marathon and the Roundabout. There is only 1" difference in width. You can compare them all at the link below.
