Is there a difference between 1.3a, 1.3, non 1.3, and whatever?

Which cable gives the most up-to-date technology boost?

Just get a good grade cable that is long enough to do the job.  HDMI is a digital medium, so either the cable will work or it won't.  Don't bother with the high priced cables - they are a waste of your money.
