What's the best Mpeg, Mp4, or Avi?

For putting on an ipod

which file is the best, based on size and quality

If i'm right an ipod only plays Mp4s. And Avi and Mpeg are video files. for video probably avi because its a better quality.

Definitely MP4. Avi is for use with larger video; mainly for playback on your PC. Mpeg and MP4 are more light-weight formats that can give high quality results with appropriate file size.

mp4 is the best quality but is not accepted i alot of mp3 players although if your just using and ipod mp4 is the way to go the file size should be the same
