Question:

What's the best Parisian hotel in February on the Left Bank?

This February I'm going for a week to Paris for my 16th Birthday instead of a Sweet Sixteen! It's my first time in Paris, and I want a hotel on the Left Bank of the Sienne that is not overly modern but a classic Parisian decoration. A hotel that is close to the Eiffel Tower or the Musee D'Orsay would be amazing!

Plus, I don't want a very "American" hotel, so I want a hotel that has less than 50 rooms, has great service, and is family run.

Any recommendations for restaurants or sites would also be great!

Thanks!

Sarah

  1. Mu favorite hotel is just what you want. Its the Hotel St. Andre des Arts and I've been staying there on trips to Paris for the last 30+ years. Its great. the l;ocation is perfect. You can walk to the Louvre, the Musee D'orsay, Notre Dame, etc etc.

But it really is the antithesis of the modern chain hotel. A sort of Anti-Hilton. No elevator, no TV, no minibar, no room service and the building its in is several centuries old. Its owned by a philosophy professor and his wife, who is an artist.

  2. This hotel is in the St. Germain area near the Metro L'Odeon and is fabulous!
