What's the best SLR camera that is reasonably priced?

I'm going to Europe next year and I'm an aspiring photographer. I was wondering which camera would be best for this trip and is at a good price.

I would go with a Canon Rebel XSi or Nikon D60.  Both great brands and reasonably priced, and they have a ton of lenses you can use.
