  1. Unfortunately that's like asking what is the best car to drive from Texas to Georgia.  So much of a boat purchase is subjective to the persons likes and dislikes.  You need to define what you need in a boat.  Are you a fisherman, a skier, a sightseer, a bar hopper or a combination of them all.  Do you have small kids, do you travel alone or with a crowd, what is your physical condition, do you like speed or economy?

There is literally 1000s of boats out there to fit your needs,  you need to find the boat that catches your eye, fits your needs and budget.  Try renting various types or bumming rides to find the style and ride you are looking for.  If you are married, be sure your spouse wants a boat and helps pick it out.  Hunting for the right boat can actually be as much fun as owning a boat.  Of the boats we have bought, it has always come after we were tired of looking and decided to forget buying at that time.  Be patient and the right boat will find you.

  2. boston whaler

  3. Look at Scout Boats ....  some of the best built and finished boats around. Very seaworthy and sea-kindly .. We have been over 20 miles offshore and felt perfectly safe and comfortable in a 262 Abaco. Some of the other fish/ski models are very nice also.
