  1. 10 hours.

  2. Doctors recommend 10-12 hours for children that are still growing, but it's personal--every kid is different. You can tell she's getting enough sleep if she wakes up on her own. (When I was 11, I went to sleep at 9:30 and woke up at 6:30. That seemed to work.)

  3. I'd set her bed time at 9:00, and have lights out by 9:30.

  4. If she won't wake up by herself she's not getting enough. Try have her down an hour earlier.

  5. Your child should be in bed by 8:30pm and lights out at 9pm.  No TV or telephone--lights out.  She can't be doing the best she can if she is sleepy.  I think you will see a big difference with another hour of sleep

  6. There's probably no reason for her to be going to bed so late. I doubt she's still doing homework at that time, so just send her to bed! I'm a freshman, and I have to get up at 5:30 or earlier for school, and I'm usually up until 11 doing homework. I do think that lack of sleep affects how I do in school, and it probably affects your daugher, too. I'd say she should go to bed at least an hour earlier and see if that helps.

  7. I was going to say exactly what pudge said

  8. Ya I agree, 10 everynight is too late. I am finding that my kids in that age range can handle 10pm maybe 2-3 nights a week. Not back to back. But if they're something special they want to watch, etc, sometimes is ok. But make it the exception, not the rule.

  9. She may not be tired because she wants to sleep, but the class might be boring she may need to move up!

  10. at least 8-10 hours i have always hear hope this helps :-)

  11. Nine to eleven hours a night, depending on the needs of the individual child. My eight year old twins and my twelve year old both normally do eleven.....in bed at 8:30, up at 7:30. Some people (kids included) need more sleep than others, I know people who can function just find on five hours of sleep a night....I need eight at least.
