What's the best (and economical) way to get from Zurich to Interlaken?

Was there and the best, cheapest transportation is by train - their rail system is awesome.  You can travel all over Switzerland as I did via train.  Took the same trip you are planning and it was simply beautiful - enjoy :)

Depending on how many people you are taking, you can go with the train (SBB)

If you have 4 or more people, you may concider renting a van. ("ein bus"). You will enjoy the sights as you travel along Lake Thun.
