Well if you want to know the BEST, then you don't want a free one. Free is not the best.

You can try PCTools. They have free ones for all needs.

You need more than an antivirus. Use these:

They are all the best in their category and FREE. Stay away from Norton, McAfee (they're c**p) or AVG (not good enough).

Unplug the internet line, uninstall the junk and install these (if necessary in safe mode) one by one with each necessary reboot done.

Reconnect the line and update them (Spybot has it manual).

That's all. Now admire how fast and safe (only if you never use IE again)

avira has a higher detection rate
