  6. Fiction:

The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde

    Non-Fiction:

    The Truth by Al Franken

Alright, so I admit that The Truth is of little literary merit as it is written by a comedian, but it IS insightful and funny.

  7. The outsiders by S. E. Hinton

  8. Gone With the Wind, The Stranger(Albert Camus), Harry Potter series, Jane Eyre, The Joy Luck Club and way too many others.

  9. I always have trouble picking books that are "the best" or that are my "favorite," but I will say that I always enjoy Tolkien's works.  The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings are truly excellent and timeless tales.  Tolkien's works contain sophisticated writing, unique and deep characters, one-of-a-kind storylines and plots, profound messages/underlying themes, and so much more.

    Best wishes!
