  1. google different personalities you like in dogs...

for instance beagles are sweet and loving, but bark like crazy...

basenjis dont bark much and are great dogs, but they may not do well with cats or kids.

sight hounds like saluki or afghan hound are mellow loving and dont bark much... But will chase and kill neighbors cats

Heres a link to find your perfect dog!!!:

  2. There's no specific breed of Dog that is the "best for first-time dog owners"  what you need to do is take a walk to a few dog parks / off-leash areas and just watch the behavior of the various types of dogs.  This also gives you an idea of sizes too.

Then do research and know what you're getting into.  Some dogs are high maintenance, stuborn, difficult to train, etc.  while some are really easy going according to guides, but you never know until you actually start.

Good luck on finding the dog that best fits your wants.

  3. Take into consideration your living situation as well as your lifestyle. If you are an active person, you can own a sporting breed. Not so active? Perhaps a  lap dog would be a good choice. The internet has unlimited information about dogs as well as future dog ownership.

  4. Depend about your personality, if you are sporty some active dog and you also need to think about how much authority do you have? If u are a leading personality you can handle also not beginner dog. But a advice to read some beginner books/websites! Luck with animals!

  5. there are so many types of dogs out there that you should first consider what you think you would like then research the requirements and special needs of that type of dog.  will what you like to have need lots of room to run and lots of exercise and will that fit your lifestyle?  do you want a short hair shedding type or do you mind if it will not shed but need to be groomed, just to name a few.  go to a pet store or shelter and ask lots of questions and relate everything to your lifesytle.  that will naturally narrow the field.  the last thing you want to do is get a dog that doesn't fit.  that's not fair to you or the dog.

  6. I don't think there is a "best".

There are breeds that I think first-time dog owners shouldn't even consider, but without knowing a lot more about you and your life, I don't think anyone can really recommend a breed for you.

  7. I love bulldogs. They are low energy dogs, and don't require lots of exercise.
