There is no overall best Canon lens.  It all depends on what and where you shoot.  If you shoot sports or wildlife, a lens with a higher focal length (more mm) will be necessary, as they can zoom in farther and get closer on the action.  If you shoot indoors or in poorly lit areas a lot of the time, a lower aperture or f/stop will be needed.  Look for lenses with f/2.8 or lower.  Also, make sure the lens has IS (Image Stabilization) or it will be hard to take dark/fast paced shots.

Not "best" because each one has its own use. But if you mean  the sharpest, even Canon says it's the 135 mm f 2.0 L

The best Canon lens is called "A Nikon."

Just kidding.  

Canon's best lenses have the "L" in their name, which stands for Loser.  Just kidding again.  I don't know what the L stands for.  I think Canon thinks it sounds good.

Just buy a lens that has a good view and an L in the name from Canon and bring lots of money cuz they r expensive.

The best Canon lenses are the "L" series of lenses, followed by the lenses with IS "image stability" and the lenses with USM "ultrasonic motor" ..

Try the EF 50mm 1.8.  If not the best, then you still definitely should have one.
