I'm studying abroad next summer in Spain. I've been looking a lot at Barcelona, but I'm open to anything and have quite a few cities available to me. Any recommendations? (And your reasons, if possible.) Thanks!

  1. barcelona I went there and it was great very expensive though

  2. barcelona because of the Gaudi buildings.

  3. i went to granada! andalucia is amazing and i would recommend granada to anyone!! But I think the summer would be too hot there - winter-spring is the best time! It is an amazing city - full of culture and history and the people there are so friendly, and its just an hour on the coach from the beaches - and neighbouring places like nerja, malaga, cadiz, sevilla, cordoba etc will keep you entertained!

Also, since your intention is to go for study - once you master the anadulz accent, you'll understand other spaniards so easily!!

  4. Barcelona is one of the most 'up and coming' cities in Spain - but if you are going there to study Spanish - go somewhere else because in Barcelona they largely speak Catalan.

  5. We have lived in Spain for 19 years, and my daughter went to Barcelona to study 'Teaching English as a foreign language'....and she loved living there - I went up to visit for the odd weekend, and so did my other daughter, and she proudly showed us all over...she made many friends, and found accomodation easily.....we all agreed it had been the best place to go, and even after she came home (to the Costa) we still go up for the odd weekend...lovely place!

  6. I think Barcelona would be a great city to study.
