  1. You don't have to wait until college to study abroad, you can go in high school too.

But some countries would be France, Italy, Spain, England, China, Japan, the more popular ones. If you don't want a real popular country you could try, Sweden, Austria, Switzerland or Czech Republic.

  2. I went to college in Indiana and the University I attended owned a sister school in England called Harlaxton College.  I picked my college just for this experience.  I loved England because we had a great place to live and study and then we travled from Friday - Sunday, sometimes until Monday and a few times we had longer weeks.  The great thing was that the airfare (back in '96) to go from England to other counties was cheap and then we traveled by train to some counties.

Plus they spoke English which was helpful.

  3. One thing to keep in mind not only whether a country is popular or not, but what you can learn there that you could not learn in your home country.  For example, if you were a classics major, spending a semester in Greece would be terrific.  If you were a business major, you would want to go to a country with a vigorous business outlook, perhaps somewhere like China, India, or even Ireland.  Study abroad is not just supposed to be an extended vacation, but a chance to learn things about the world that you could not as easily learn at home.

  4. Canada - best country to study. Top university, world class education, you can work while study as well. English speaking country and much more.

    Best of Luck

  5. I would not wait to go to college to travel abroad. College programs are way more expensive and also the younger the better accent you will acquire. Some kids start participating in exchange programs abroad at age 12 and 13 and you cannot tell them apart from a native. Its amazing.

Without a doubt Spain and to be exact Santander, where they speak the purest form of the Spanish language. It´s a beautiful and safe (considered one of safest places in Europe) fun beach resort. I can recommend a program all alumni have been raving about after their participation www.beautifulspain.com

Their host families are extremely well screened, loving and caring and have experience in hosting exchange students. This program allows you sign up with a friend with whom to stay in same host family home or different one. They also offer a few choices of families for you to give the final word for a perfect fit. This programs provides you with a Diploma for your resume, and college application.

Many participants are returnees from prior years that love coming year after year and stil manages to keep it as a small group for best individual attention.

The best part is that for its much lower cost than other programs includes fun and exciting activities such as cooking, Spanish language, dancing classes combined with others such as fireworks on the beach, bullfight, beach days, tallship boat trip, Aquarium, paella dinner, fishing village, medieval towns, canoeing down the river trip, Roman route hiking trip, Guggenheim museum, shopping the sales, city tour and much more. There is no more complete, fun and safe program at this low cost.

    Good luck and enjoy!!
