  1. If you can convert your Canadian currency directly in an airport to mexican pesos that would be great.

If not, Canadian dollars are useless here and regular banks will probably not accept them in exchange for pesos. Most banks will accept US dollars for pesos at the expense that you will be losing some money given the exchange rate. Some businesses like McDonalds actually accept US dollars.

Major credit cards will work here, but there isn't a lot of businesses that will accept them (mainly department stores or big chain restaurants).

  2. convert your canadian to pesos and take that, you now lose money going to US $$

  3. Depends on where you're going in Mexico.   For most tourist spots and most areas in the NAFTA free zone, US dollars are just as widely accepted as pesos (roughly 10 or 11:1).  If you pay in greenbacks, they will make change in pesos.  No separate currency exchange required.  In poorer areas, the dollar will actually buy you a little more than equivalent amount of pesos.

  4. Change you GOOD MONEY (not U.S. Dollars) for Peso's at any BANK in Mexico... Banks will always give you be the best exchange rate.

  5. euros

  6. well  I live in mexico,

the canadian dollar is more expensive in mexico than the american dollar ,

    1 CAD = 11.26 mxn   mexican pesos

    1 USD = 10.60 mxn   mexican pesos

I isn't worth changing cad  to usd  then to mxn ,  because  the american  dollar  is cheaper in mexico than the candadian one.

if you  exchange you CAD in any money exchage site  be aware   they cashier must give you  11 pesos for every canadian dollar.

take a look at the local moneymarket  and see  how much money they give you  for your CADS.

do the same with american currency..!!

and  have a good one in mexico!.

P.S.    if you bring your CAD into mexico, at least change them in the airport, because it may be a little bit idfficult to change them  inland.

  7. go to your local Canadan  bank and exchange your euro to peso you will get more for your money

  8. watch rates...we go almost every year...dollars seem to be the best...once you get to mexico find one of their banks...i dont know where you are going but we go to cancun and the bank in the kukulan plaza has the best rate...don't change money at airport orhotel you get the worst rate..have fun

  9. When taking your money to Mexico city, please open your eyes to make sure which exchange house or "casa de cambio" will give to you the best rate for your money.

Th more money that you change the more money you will have to spend for "extra items" sucj as taxi rides, gifts, etc., etc., etc.,

  10. your best bet is the USD but then you have to call the hotel directly to find if they are accepting euros and at what exchange rate.

  11. The best thing to use is Mexican pesos. The official currency in Mexico is the Mexican Peso. Buy them at a money exchange in the airport. That is where you will get the best rate. Try to avoid buying merchandise and services in dollars and receiving change in pesos you loose bigtime that way.

  12. Nearly everyone can accept us dollars - in fact sometimes you'll get change back in a combo of us & mexican money.

  13. In large cities or resort towns pesos or US dollars. Remember whats left over you will be taking home so what ever's easier to convert.
