depends on what you want to trade...  and what kind of site your looking for...  do you want to learn to day trade are you looking for trading systems?  are you looking for  broker to go through, you need more details in your question.

If u are talking about trading of equity shares of companies listed in BSE or NSE, then I suggest you visit websites of icicidirect.com, shcil.com, hdfcsecurities.com, indiabulles, kotaksecurities.com, etc.,

They provide a good platform (softwares) where u can buy & sell the equity shares of listed companies, (u can edit the list as per your need), for a minimal charge depending on your a/c type and usage pattern.

You need to check the terms & policies, charges of the concerned company to make that decision. That would also mean checking the ground realities of good & timely Customer Care help. A toll-free telephone helpline would be an added advantage. And not the least of all, someone should be there in the Customer Care to actualy receive the call, rather that the IVR machine saying "Your call is important to us, please stay on line".

If u have a/c with any of the banks, they might be having their own trading platforms (softwares). You may be able to get advice from their trading staff. This will cut the need to open another bank a/c that is suited for the transfer of funds on the trading company's platform.

Moreover "best" comes only after you have tested "worse/worst". So go ahead and try some demos of the softewares.
