  1. I'm real happy with my TaylorMade R7 Superquad.  I went to a Demo Days at a local golf course and hit several brands & models of clubs.  The R7 was my favorite.  HOWEVER, the Callaway FT-5 was a sweet driver too.  The R7 & FT-5 were my personal favorites.

Attached are two links to Golf Digest's Hot List for 2008.  I've included one link for drivers & one for putters.  Hope this helps.  Please note that each link has several pages to it.

  2. Hey,

im a 15 year old and im playing off handicap of 2.My advice to you would be , If you are going to go to the next level i would buy pre-owned clubs and not new clubs out. There are some great pre-owned Drivers out there that are VERY cheap...For e.g: Titleist 905 , Ping G2  , heck even the ping si3, and if i was advising a putter i wouldnt go with taylormade or anything like that...2 best putter brands would be ping and odyssey.Ok hope i helped = )

  3. what ever suits you best ,,,,,,I like Cleveland ~!

    and Ping ~!

  4. The Best Driver is the one you hit the best , It does not matter what Brand it is , now I would say Titleist because I hit Titleist the best and I have tried all the Top Drivers , now that's just me , you should try out as many as you can first then come to a decision , don't go by a popularity contest . GET FITTED !!!!

    Good Luck.

  5. Titleist 905R deffinatly best driver ever made(thats my opinion Im on a 3 handicap and i have one with proforce v2 shalft extra stiff)

Aldila NV, Proforce V2, or Graffaloy blue shalft would be good for this club

Titleist 983K if your look for a cheaper option

Scotty Cameron, Oddysey XG, or Oddysey Black Series Putter.

Stay away from Rife, Yes and Older model Scotty Camerons

  6. Well I'd have to say based upon facts and personal opinion, TaylorMade has the best drivers out right now.  I have the r7 460 Driver.  They have the r7 line out right now (CGB, Draw, SuperQuad) along with the Burners and their brand new club Burner Tour.  Any of those clubs are just about the same, all pretty much the best out there, it's just about personal preference.

As far as putters go, I'd have to say Odyssey has a huge line of great putters, number one putter played.  I use the new Odyssey White Hot Marxman 2-line.  Fisher Touch Putters are nice and new with variable speed face inserts.  Rife 2-Bar Hybrid is nice.  If you like blade style putters the Scotty Cameron line by Titleist are nice.

Those are pretty much the 2 most played brands in golf... not only on Tour but in the average golfer as well.  I think I recently read something that TaylorMade is played more than Ping, Cleveland, Titleist, Callaway and Mizuno combined.

Go check 'em out for yourself, I think you'll see why they're most popular.
