maybelline pure make up in a little blue tube works sooo well for me.

it was my first foundation and i use it almost every day.

but if your worried about oily skin, try loreal bare naturale mineral.

it works really well, and you dont have to worry about being un-even because it is a powder that is spread on your face.

It depends what you're looking for.  Personally, I use a brand called Physician's Formula;  they do a lot of powdered foundations and tons of other makeup that are all natural and go a long way towards keeping your complexion looking it's best.  It may only be available in Canada, where I'm originally from, but it's quality stuff that's inexpensive, and well worth it if you can get it.

my favorite drug store foundation is the new revlon foundation where you can choose your shade... this is very convient for the summer because being outside so much, your shade varies.  it's only about $9 bucks, but i like it so much better than my expensive clinque foundation.

as for powders, i prefer the cover girl outlast pressed powder, it stays on forever!

neutrogena products are very good.

the neutrogena skin clearing line is great [[ i use their powder]]

and as for foundation, i normally hate covergirl products, but their clean makeup line is actually pretty good. it makes my skin look clean and fresh/

Well the one thats best for me is called Palladio Natural Rice Dual Wet and Dry foundation..

its good for all types of skin and its not tested on animals and no animal byproducts. It is in a compact style case.
