  1. Hybrid Prius – 2008

  2. You just need to think: light, small, and slightly used to be cost-efficient. The car companies aren't actually producing "green" or "eco-friendly" cars for normal people... so just get a small car and adjust your driving habits to try and minimize your damage.

  3. a bike

  4. Currently a 2004-2008 Toyota Prius. If you plan on buying new, wait for the 2010 Prius.. It should be out next year.

  5. tesla roadster. plug-in electric, no emissions

  6. Daihatsu do 3 cylinder 989cc engine cars w. plenty of room for 5, 55mpg, 0 to 60 in 12 seconds, 114 gm carbon that will cruise, believe it or not, at 100 mph steady and have ac and all the latest safety stuff.

Don't know if you can get them in the US though, they were Japan's first car company.

Electrics generate more dangerous battery chemicals, take infinitely more power to make and would require 50% more power stations if everyone bought one so don't fall for that scam.

  7. a 3 year old diesel golf.

3 years old as the cost is 50% of new

Diesel as they last 500,000 miles plus, NO tune-ups, only oil changes, lots of low end torque, and no stupid O2 sensors that cost $3000 to replace. You can make your own fuel for them too for about 75 cents a gallon. Biodiesel blends emit a lot less pollutants that regular diesel.they get 50MPG!! which is double what the gas version gets!!
