What's the best gun to buy for personal protection.?

Question

I'm looking for somthing I can carry with me all the time that is reliable and has plenty of stopping power. Not too worried about carying a concealed weapon. I'd rather be tried by twelve than carried aloft by six.

Stopping power lol, sorry but you play way to much call of duty 4. To be serious though i would carry a 22 cal. pistol. If you want a bigger caliber i would go with a colt. or a 9mm which cops use.

.38 special 4" barrell, supervell hollow points will stop most anything.

The best gun to buy is no gun at all. Every survey that has looked into the matter finds that you are more likely to be shot with a gun, if you are carrying a gun.

However, I doubt logic is the strong suit of gun owners.

If you don't want to do it legally, then you don't need to know.

First, don't break the law.  If you use an illegal gun, in many jurisdictions, you will be in jail a very long time.  Get licensed and follow the law.

Second, we need to know the circumstances of your carry intentions.  Personally, I'm partial the the Sig 9m.  But, you may need to go with a smaller gun.  Check out the Ruger selections at your local range; they can educate you on the laws as well.
