I usually drink beer, but I know that's not good to drink if you're on a diet. But what is the best alcohol to drink, say on a weekend with my friends.

  1. white wine and champagne have the least amount of calories.

beer has an insane amount of calories- avoid it at all costs (even "light" beer)

scotch is the best hard liquor to drink as it has no sugar

80 proof liquor has less calories that the harder stuff, but the second you mix it with any sugar juice or soda the calories shoot up.

i would stick to champagne or white wine though.  its really your best bet.

  2. gin & tonic with slice of lime!!!! any spirit with fresh juices like apple orange or pineapple. vodkas godlike with all of these. im on a diet too! yay im not the only one!

  3. If its all about weight loss, then alcohol is similar to sugar - empty calories. Avoid them.

If its about healthy eating, a diet to last a lifetime, then a glass of wine enjoyed with a meal each night is a good thing.

    All things in moderation.

  4. Industrial strength ethanol.  That $hit will P**c you up pretty good.

  5. LOL none really...umm LIGHT? beer has alot of starch to it, making alot of sugar for your body. if your gunna drink  i would say keep it to a minium , one or two if not ....you might need to find a subsitute, be safe and take care

  6. hard liquor on the rocks

  7. gin & coke.  Gin has little  calories and no carbs supposedly.  If you are a beer drinker, Michelob Ultra isnt bad.  Light on carbs and calories.

  8. Raw alcohol contains about 7 calories per gram (or millilitre).  This would be the rating for scotch, vodka, gin, tequila, white rum and so on.  For "flavoured" spirits, such as brandy and brown rum, the rating rises to about 8 calories per gram - the same as sugar.

All sweet wines contains about 8 calories per gram.  Dry wines vary from 5 to 7 calories per gram.  Beer contains 8 calories per gram.

This means that any alcoholic drink is about as calorific as cola or fruit juice.  However, consumption of alcohol seems to suppress the urge to eat sugar, whether it is sucrose, fructose or dextrose.  This may sound like a good idea for dieting except that it means eating less fruit and vegetables, which are essential for good health and especially for weight loss.

My advice: small quantities of spirits or dry wine.

The wiki below is not very helpful but will give you some ideas.
