  1. I'm very happy with Onecall. (http://www.onecall.no/) Not prepaid, I use "faktura". I surf a lot on the net on my phone, 'cause I'm an addict - and end up paying around 90 kroner - like, 12 euros - a month...  almost ridiculous.

There are several calculators, they are all in Norwegain...

http://www.telepriser.no/  -is governmental. You see the colomn "Mobiltelefoni" to the left? It has three options, "lavt" (low usage) "middels" (medium usage) and "høyt" (high usage) "samtaler" means numbers of calls, the rest you understand if you shout a lot and wave your hands :-) .(like, "sjeldent" means seldom).  Click on one of the bottom line prices, (like, they will say "Fra 9 kr/mÃ¥ned ")  and the page adjust a bit. Now , the columns at the very left means : Juster ditt forbruk  (adjust for your usage)

minutter fordelt pÃ¥  (minuts, split on)

samtaler pr   dag uke mÃ¥ned  (calls per day week month)

Antall minutter til: (Number of minuttes to )

Mobil Fastnett (wireless wired(?the old fashioned telephone net. Don't you have a word for it? 'Fast' means 'solid' or 'firm', as in tangible.))

    min   min

    Antall SMS  (number of SMS)

    Antall MMS  (number of MMS)

    Antall kB    (number kB)

Antall oppringninger til mobilsvar (number of calls to cellphone answer service)

This seems to tell me I could have saved 4 kr in the month on MTU, I've never tried them. (http://www.mtu.no/) From what I can surf up here, MTU is a good option if you plan to stay in Oslo (only), cause they own their own base stations here, but they have to buy service from Telenor in the rest of the country. Onecall buys from Network Norway in Oslo, and  Netcom (swedish Telia) in the rest of the country. This is of importance for computer traffic, the prices are fixed in both cases for phoning and sms-ing.

I used to use Telenor, but I hate them, they are very arrogant and expensive. (like old monopolists are.) The notice is Onecall also cost 39 kroner a month if you need the bills on paper, but I don't need that- I just get them in the e-mail (and could write them out from there, they come in PDF.) .

    There are other calculators,

    http://ringepriser.mobilen.no/

    http://www.mobiltelefon.no/priskalkulato...

    http://www.mobiltelefon.no/nytt_og_nytti...

(but i don't think this ones are right- they get to high prices on the Onecall, at least)

  2. Local SIM card with prepaid money would be the best option. There aren't plans just for 5 months. Normally 12 is the minimum.
