What's the best multi-purpose athletic shoe?

i need a new pair to play tennis with and make me look cute while i trek around campus or on a trail. my question is this: does a fashionable aerobics/hiking hybrid exist? would asics or kangoroos suffice? i'm a struggling student, so i'm also on a limited budget and can't just buy another pair; i need to make these ones count! thank you.
