What's the best music-mixing software available?

I've been looking at a few places in town where I can purchase PC music-mixing software and just keep finding the same stuff which doesn't list what I want it to do. Here's the thing: I want to be able to take the music files I currently have and mix them using sound bytes from other music files to create a "Mash-Up." For example, I want to take the lyrics and percussion from one song and synchronize with the lead and bass guitars in another song.

I've only found the Roxio software and the other has been "cakewalk." I know Roxio's software somewhat well but am not willing to pay for something if it's not going to be exactly what I need. Please help, and thanks for all the input.
