my mother doesn't like dogs and cats then what else i can have as a pet which is sweet and friendly?

Small Pets that I've had that are sweet and easy to care for -

Hamsters (cute and cuddly)

Mice (once you get over the gross factor, mice are very sweet and cuddly animals, and can be handled similar to a hamster)

African Giant Frogs (cannot be handled, but they are interesting to watch, and are easy to care for)

Guinea Pigs (similar care as a rabbit, friendly, love to be pet and held, are very vocally affectionate with their favorite owners)

Rabbits (love to be pet and held, some can be litter box trained and permitted to have the run of the house)

Hermit Crabs (believe it or not, they DO have a personality, some of them can actually be affectionate to their owners)

Get a rabbit from the pound!

Please please dont what ever animal you get I beg you not to get it from a breeder or pet store. There are SO many loving rabbits,dogs,cats,ferrets,hamsters, even rats at the shelters and I hate seeing them so sad.

When you do go to the pound and if you choose to get a rabbit choose one that isnt a scary cat or doesnt let the worker pick him up easily. Maybe, ask the worker which one they think is the nicest,cailmest, ect.

Rabbits are extremely smart animals, they can be littler trained like a cat! I know at my shelter they have cages for extremely cheap you can buy with your rabbit. Plus the shelter will spay the rabbit for almost free and that is an extreme plus because normally spaying/neutering a rabbit is $200. At my shelter they also have extra items to put in with the cage for example an iglo (Which at the store is like $10-15), you can get one there for around $3-5. When you get home after school you can let it out of it's cage and let it play around in the house! Plus some people let their rabbits run around all day, so you could sleep with it. I would suggest letting it run around in your room freely if you wish and keeping a cage in their always open. :D

The only disadvantages to rabbits is that some like to chew. You may need to put up any wires or cords around the room so they rabbit doesn't chew them. Their urine also can smell pretty badly. It is fairly easy to litter train a rabbit. I suggest googleing it if you choose to purchase one.

I bought a rabbit from the pound recently and it cost me, I think $50 and then an extra $15 for medicine after she was spayed. But it's really worth it!

i love my rabbit he is sweet, but rabbits take allot of work i thought it would be so easy but they need to be watched they like to chew on your stuff and go bathroom in the worst spots. Hedgehogs are sooooooo adorable!! But i dont think they are very affectionate.

Hmm... Hamsters can be sweet and friendly... but ONLY if you handle them alot.. and by alot.. I mean every day as much as you can.  If you dont handle them enough they will bite people.

But get a pig. they are smart.  Ive even heard stories of them dragging people out of fires.

bunnys are great.

So are ginnea pigs, they are small enough to be in a cage but big enough to be picked up and stuff.

but I think gerbils are great, they rarely bite and are really smart, you can shut your door and let them run loose, and they are really sweet/

I think the best pet to have is a ferret if you can afford them. They make a wonderfull pet! They really do its kind of like having all those caged animals and a cat and dog.. THERE amazing.

They are alot of work, you should make sure you will have time for them everyday to play with them and let them run about. You can teach ferrets tricks! You should do some reseach on them before getting one make sure you know what to look for when they may becoming sick. Like i said they are wonderfull pets to own if you have the time and money.
