What's the best place to stay at St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles?

At the end of the year I'm planning to visit st. maarten, I would like to know from previous experiences what's the best place to stay at, maybe something close to Princess Juliana International Airport so I can see the big boys land, thanks.

Anywhere - they're hotels are all amazing, and have greta nightlife as well - stay in Phillipsburg on the Dutch side, it's so much fun - then take a boat to the french side for shopping!

I too am planning a trip to St. Maarten and had a similar issue. I was told by a few tripadvisor members that Simpson bay is a great area that is close to everything. Maho bay is the area that the planes fly over.
