What's the best place to watch the meteor shower tonight within 30 miles of Portland OR?

  1. Try to find a place where you have a clear view of the North, but no matter where, you will still be able to see them by looking straight up. Try to find an area with little light pollution... you will see a lot more meteors that way. Seeing as the moon isn't going to be giving off any light pollution tomorrow morning, finding a place with little light pollution will make it even more spectacular. Get away from that dang city glow...


  2. You need to get somewhere dark - since Perseus (the radiant of the shower) is to the north, you want Portland to be south of you so any of its light is as far from the radiant of the shower as possible.

    Try to find someplace where there is a hill between you and the city, but its clear and unobstructed north of you.
