  1. the best diction in English in the UK is actually in Scotland.

Apparently the Engish spoken in Inverness has all the letters in words pronounced the clearest.

They speak relatively slowly and very clearly so I would say from a learning point of view that there would be the best. as for living there, I have no idea!

  2. Cambridge is good. I found that people were friendly, the city center has lots of nice shops and there are many other nationalities there. There are also many language schools and a Eurocentre which is everywhere in Europe.

  3. Cambridge and Oxford

    :)

    long traditions and education experience

  4. There are hundreds of language schools in England, and some universities also offer courses for international students to improve their general and academic English. Along the south coast, cities such as Brighton and Bournemouth have lots of language schools and loads of shops, pubs and clubs. Other cities with a large number of schools are Oxford, Cambridge, Bristol and Bath. In the north, the cities are a bit less beautiful but the accommodation and fees are often cheaper than in the south. There are language schools in York and Harrogate (both very nice places!) and Leeds and Manchester (less pretty but still lively) Wherever you choose to go, make sure the school is a member of an association such as ABLS or EAQUALS, or accredited by the British Council. These schools are voluntarily inspected every three years and are committed to a code of practice specified by the the association, covering teachers' qualifications, student accommodation and welfare, and standards of comfort and safety in the school's premises.

  5. I would suggest England.

  6. Any of the attractive, educated and cultured cities; I'd recommend Oxford, Cambridge, York, Bath, Warwick, Brighton, Edinburgh.
