  1. porcao its the BEST!!

  2. To try Brazilian Food:

CHURRASCARIA (brazilian bbq house) you have to go to BARRA BRASA (www.barrabrasa.com.br).

BOTEQUIM (you try the brazilian daily dishes): BELMONTE

    FEIJOADA - Casa da Feijoada

Food from Bahia - Siri Mole (www.sirimole.com.br)

But if you want to try the best of our fusion cusine and international restaurants you should go to:

Careme (french cusine), Gero (italian), Carlota (fusion/brazilian), Nan Thai (thai and vietnamese), Natraj (Indian)...

You should also try the Juices houses like BB LANCHES and BIBI SUCOS... you'll have all types of fruits to mix up.

  3. Porcão is a great BBQ restaurant

  4. That depends on what kind of food you are looking for, I mean if you want pasta or meat or sea food.

  5. There are nicer returants, but if this is a first visit go to Marius in Copacabana accross from the beach.  It's an all you can eat type experience (similar to fogodechao.com) with a great seafood buffet and a meat fest.  The food comes to you via the Gaúchos so you see before you eat.  Best to pack a big appetite.

  6. Casa da Feijoada - they have really good local food

  7. Any of the four on Rua Maria Angélica in Jardim Botanico.

Then there's Barra Grill in Barra da Tijuca,

the two Marius' (eat all the meat you can in one, and all the seafood in the other) in Leme,

    the Colombo downtown.

For misers: In any sreetcorner boteqium (popular bar/restaurant) you can get wholesome meals for 1-2 US$
