Question:

What's the best running regiment for boxers?

I recently started training for boxing, and have heard varying things regarding the "running" aspect. I've mainly heard that running sprints for a mile or two, is actually better than running long distances... can someone clarify/verify?

  1. you should do both. one day run long distance (3 miles should take under 30 minutes) and an another day run sprints. see how you feel from this (don't over train with running b/c you will only hurt your legs) but if you are fine and can run more then go for it. I would suggest not to exceed running five times a week but if you want you could swim on the other two days. personally I don't ever run long distance more than twice a week but I do a lot of sprints and other workouts. for more ideas go to crossfit.com
