Question:

What's the best ski pass for a not-too-frequent Colorado skiier?

Hi there,

I live in Longmont, and I bought the Colorado Ski Pass for the past few years. The pass is a great way to save money, but I was wondering if there is a less expensive pass that has perhaps fewer days at A-Basin, Breck & Vail.

This year, I went to Breck 2x to A-Basin 3x and to Vail 2x. Pretty pathetic...I know. The question is: do you know of a pass that would better fit my type of ski routine? I've checked websites, and I'm only hearing about their "Epic" pass--which certainly is not made for a person like me.

In fact, I don't think I'll ever use the unlimited pass for Breck, Keystone & A-Basin w/ 10 days at Vail the way it should be used.

Thanks for your help.

  1. Hey there,

If you really think you need to get a pass, I would suggest that you get the Colorado Pass. It has Unlimited Days at Keystone and Breckenride, and A-Basin, and has 10 days at Vail and Beaver Creek. The cost is $439, and the cost of purchasing lift tickets for your travels would be about $480, if my calculations are correct.

    Hope i could help.

  2. Eldora is $350 for the season... that isn't too bad, I have personally never skied at Eldora though, but as far as I know it is the cheapest pass out there.

I get the Rocky Mountain Super Pass... right now for next year I think it is about $450 which isn't really worth it for someone like you, UNLESS you are a student (or work at a school, basically any way you would have student ID) and you open a wells fargo account, they give you a coupon for a 2-for 1 WP/Copper pass minus the ten days at Steamboat. A good deal if you ask me if you are in any way a student (they are not too strict about it). It ends up costing 200 for WP/Copper.

or this is another option, 4 days at WP or Copper for a bit over 100... not bad...http://www.passwagon.com/fourpass.htm

Other than that I do not know...especially if you are more into the 5 mountains.

  3. I love Crested Butte, Co and Telluride, Co because they are not the average crowded tourist spots but have excellent skiing for the truly adventurous and the average skier.  They are both small towns but have the culture to experience with the locals and it's a little less expensive than Vail and Breck.  I know what good slopes are as I learned to ski in Switzerland and now live back in the US.  these are good slopes.  Try the North side, all black of course and you need to pass a test to be allowed there, but it's worth it.

  4. ahaha

  5. ok so non of these people have answered your question so here it goes, i have the super pass (copper winter park) and i would highly recomend it but if you like those 5 mountains i would suggest you go to the abasin website click on passes and they have this one with unlimited a basin and like i think 5 to breck or beaver creek idr

    good luck

or just a 4 pass to copper or winter park
