  1. FERRETS!!!! they are cute, cuddly, sweet, and live around 10 years!!!!

Visit the site i gave you, or go to your local PETCO, they sell them and you can ask to play with them.

  2. These websites will give you so much information on those rodents:

    Hamster: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamster

    Guinea Pig: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guinea_pig

    Gerbil: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerbil

    I hope this helped you!

  3. well they all don't live very long but i would a guinea pig is the best the are cute big but still small and live a couple years

  4. I would pick a hamster or a guinea pig - both tend to be a lot more tame and like to be handled.  Most gerbils that I've come into contact with are quite wild and will bite readily.

If you get a younger hamster or a baby guinea pig handle them a lot about a week after you get them (let them settle into their new environment first) and continue to handle them at least once a day to keep them tame and socialized.

The nice thing about guinea pigs is if you take them out to cuddle, for a short period at first, then longer and longer...they can hold their pee/p**p for about 40 minutes, so no nasty surprises.  Hamsters tend to just go wherever and whenever! :)

  5. I've tried a lot of pets, from hamsters to mice, but my current favorite is the guinea pig. They are quite cleanly creatures, and can spend up to 4 hours a day grooming their fur. They aren't the timid type once they know you, and are smart enough to recognize their name! Even mine does! They enjoy human contact unlike some other small pets, and even tell you when they need feeding. They need calcium in their water, but thats an easy thing to do. They love to snuggle and play, and mine even acts like a mini-dog. Best part- its just big enough to make my cats think twice before trying to get at it, and it even scares my biggest cat away! Shes a cute one too. Hamsters are nice, but by nature are indifferent to contact. The ONLY animal I would suggest over a guinea pig is a fancy rat. They are amazing little guys, and are extremely smart and cuddly. Some people are offput by the fact that... well its a rat. But they make the best pets, at least for me.

  6. depends on the amount of money, time and effort your prepared to put in. For a first time pet owner I'd say a syrian hamster only need cleaning out once a week, feeding once a day cost very little to keep etc

guineapigs are very shy and hard to tame

rabbits are lovely but a lot of work for a first time pet owner

    hope this helps

  7. Hamsters are better then gerbils as gerbils chew everything and are destructive. Syrians are friendlier then the dwarf type and are fun because you can but really cool cages with tunnels and there are loads of cool cage accesories you can buy, hamsters only live for about two years though. Guinea pigs are quieter and do alot less but live longer, they aren't really playful animals.

Rabbits live for up to ten years but, no matter what anyone says are hard to care for and you need alot of space and money to keep them happy and healthy.

So either a syrian hamster or a guinea pig would be best for you. Hope I helped.

  8. Guinea pigs are the best! I love them =)
