My wife is a third year medical student looking for a Smartphone to put medical software on. We have heard that blackberry is the best smart phone but we’ve also heard that most of the medical software is Palm or Windows Mobile based. Are there any medical professionals who can recommend a particular smart phone platform?

  1. there are several programs I've seen for the palm based operating system.. as it's the most stable o/s... Not freezing all the time I would look into that.   I would agree to stay away from windows mobile, it's very unstable and quite frankly can make a smart phone stupid

  2. I don't know how the Palm works or Blackberry's. But I do recommend not to get the windows based PDA'S. I have a AT&T Tilt, which is windows based, and yes it does freeze a lot. Due to all the programs that make it freeze. So, i would recommend not to get any windows based phone.

  3. Blackberry. If you can wait until september get the Blackberry Bold. Best PDA that will be out. Until then I have the curve and LOVE IT. Windows based phones = Bad. They freeze options are not the greatest and palm is just a un-reliable phone. I had the new centro for about a week and could not stand it one bit. Blackberry has the best OS, User-Friendly configurations and best pricing on data plans as you are a medical student. Go for the Blackberry curve and then upgrade to the bold when released. Best of luck to you :)
