  1. How do you clean the bathtub? First, assemble the right tools - liquid detergent, spray bottle, protective gloves, mild abrasive cleansing product, and a scrubber (brush or sponge). Pick up and put away all your bottles of shampoo and conditioner, soap, etc. Your work will be easier and faster if these things are out of the way - It looks better, too.

Before you start the heavy scrubbing, wet the bathtub down and, using the detergent, begin lightly scrubbing at the heavily grimed areas of the tub. Allow to "work" for about 10 minutes, so the detergent can begin breaking down the grime.

When the time limit is up, go back to scrubbing, and the dirt should come off fairly easily. After cleaning a section, spray or splash with clean water to mark your progress. If the dirt is still not coming off easily you can spray with Tilex ® and let it sit for a few minutes before you tackle it again.

When it's all done, practice regular maintenance for a few weeks, then give it another good going over.

  2. Anyway you can get an outdoor shower built, or maybe in the garage?  Just kidding.  If the scrubbing bubbles don't work, add a little lime-away to the Scrubbing Bubbles and let sit for 15 minutes, but don't let it dry or you will have to start all over.  I spray mine first, then clean the rest of the bathroom and then go back to the tub.  Be careful though, if you have fiberglass or a repainted tub, as the Lime-Away will take off the finish.  It does a great job on the fixtures, but again, be careful on the time.  Start out letting only a few minutes go by, then increase time until you get it figured out.

  8. Magic Erasers. I am their number one fan.

  9. I feel your pain, my husband works in tire retread and comes home black from head to toe. My advice is to invest in a Pumice Stone(a gray lava rock that can be used directly on the stain) this will remove virtually any stain. It won't scratch your fixtures, just don't use it on the chrome. Also helpful are baking soda, bleach, soap scum cleaners, and of course, magic erasers.

  10. CLR. I have tried "literally" everything and this product works GREAT! I'm not kidding...after I used it the bathtub was squeaky clean.

    Cleaning the Tub

    Step1

Apply a heavy-duty bathtub or all-purpose cleaner to a tub coated in enamel, the most durable of bathtub materials. Allow it to sit for 5 minutes, then scrub with a scrub brush using gentle pressure. Rinse well.

    Step2

Scrub away the remaining soap scum with a scrub brush or an old toothbrush. When scrubbing, pay special attention to the corners of the tub and the area around the drain, where soap scum and dirt tend to build up. Also, look for evidence of a bathtub ring, the ring of dirt and stains that forms around the edges of the tub, which will require extra time and scrubbing.

    Step3

    Rinse again.

    Step4

Apply a nonabrasive bathroom or bathtub cleaner if the tub is acrylic, which can scratch easily. Gently scrub with a soft-bristled brush. Rinse the tub well.

    Step5

Apply a specialized fiberglass cleaner or a nonabrasive bathtub cleaner to a fiberglass tub. Scrub gently with a sponge. Rinse well.
