  1. That I know that I don't need a deity to remind me to live my life to the fullest.

  2. we save lots of money  and have our sundays free

  3. having a brain.  ( do you mean Agnostic ? ) My answer would be for Agnostics.

  4. That I'm not religious?

  5. I think premarital s*x and alchol sounds good.

And the not burning in h**l

  6. hmm, hard one, But I'd have to say, not looking over my shoulder checking if some non-existant being is watching me, So, I'd have to say its the freedom to be who I am, not  what someone else expects me to be

  7. That I don't get so tired from hoop jumping, that much be exhausting.

  8. Sleeping in on Sunday.

    Totally the bestest thing :P

  9. I would say not having to deal with the moral contradictions arising when logic and one's holy book conflict with each other.

  10. The certainty of nothingness!

  11. "Not accountable for your actions." - fundie

  12. Sleep in on Sundays? And not doing good things for the wrong reasons.

  13. Don't have to worry about burning in h**l which does not exist.

Can live life without any guidline of what you can do and can not do.

    Can be more open-minded

  14. Freedom from slavery to imaginary psychopathic monsters.

  15. Being right.

  16. Its difficult to say one thing over the rest. It allows one to use one's mind in the spirit of free and honest inquiry, so that one can ask and seek answers to questions about anything, and one can then face and accept the answers that result from that inquiry.

Yes, we have our Sunday mornings free for better things, so that we can have more fun the evening before. My wife and I had a neighbourhood gathering and picnic yesterday, that went to near 11 PM, and then we cleaned up and relaxed before bed. This morning, I am listening to a wonderful radio show about interesting and good people stories, The Vinyl Cafe on CBC Radio (You don't have to be in Canada to hear it, listen off of cbc.ca) which always brings a smile to my face, because its about good folks and lives, of which there are many, and its good to hear about such things, too.

Some people waste too much time on things that aren't, when they could use the time to better understand and know their fellow good folks. Doing that helps one see humanity in a better light.

  17. The complete lack of confusion, regarding how and why things happen.

The universe is quite easy to understand, when you accept the fact that the universe does not have a personality.

The moment I finally realized that the god I had been brainwashed to believe in, was in fact, imaginary, it was like the clouds parted.  I chuckled to myself and said, "Oh, that explains everything, haha... boy do I feel like a s*****k."

  18. Sleeping late on Sunday???

Seriously though, it has opened my mind to other possibilities and being able to look at things in new ways. It was actually quite liberating...   (and boy, can I see the fundies twisting that into all sorts of negatives.)

As somone said before, I'm much less confused...

    OK, bring on the TD's...

  19. sleeping in on Sundays

  20. Not having to doublethink. Doublethinking nearly drove me _insane_.

  21. Best thing: The atheists think they have got an answer to the questions: "who are we? where do we come from? where are we going?"

I see atheists as "the other extremists" [no offence intended], speaking about religion, of course. Let me explain briefly:

On the first hand, there are the people who can not accept a world with God - like the communists (that ruled Romania, my country, for more than 50 years).

They were all...or they just declared themselves "atheists".

Funny thing, they asked the priests to come at home to baptise their kids or to celebrate a wedding :)

On the other hand, there are people who cannot accept a world without God.

Things are so much related on planet Earth: look at charbon - present in a pencil, in a diamond or...in the human brain!

This world itself is a wonder...next planet with life can be at unbelievable distance.

It makes you wonder, it makes you think - with the help of a priest or not, inside a church or not, Atheist, Catholic, Orthodox, Muslim, Jew... no matter what is your religion...you asked yourself the questions and you found an answer.

If you call God, E.T. - is your problem, not mine!

if you think that after your death, there is nothing else but complete darkness, instead of shining light - is your problem!

if you prefer to think that religion means "no sleep on Sunday morning" and not a part of your life - again is your problem!

but tell me, how do you explain the great number of believers amongst people who work as scientists, as astronomers, as teachers, as physicists. They should be all atheists, no? their work is to discover the rules, the evolution, the universe, ...and yet they see God and the perfection of his work better than anyone. Makes you think...isn't it?

  22. Acting out of a personal sense of right and wrong rather than a childlike fear of eternal damnation.

  23. nothing at all. It's totally the wrong way to go

  24. Freedom from superstition.

    Authenticity of thought.

    Fearless discovery.

Practical motivations based on reason and compassion instead of the supposed whim of a fantasy creature.

Recognizing and accepting the real world around me.

    Knowing my own nature.

Understanding the preciousness of my finite days.
