  1. I love their eyes, and they are great in cold weather

  2. Oh lord.

Someone else wanting a husky "because they're pretty".

  3. They are beautiful, great natured, love a fuss, dont get cold, enjoy walks, even after 4 hours!!!! pull you up hills when you are getting tired after the 5th hour of walking, lol, get on well with most dogs ( as long as they are socialised young)  eat all of my leftovers, no waste in the rubbish bin, very cosy to cuddle up to on a cold winters night, although the hairs arent that great, easy to teach, well mannered but a bit nuts until they are around 2 ish, love kids, they put burglars off cause they look mean, even though they arent!!  if i think of anything else i will let you know xx

  4. Huskies are beautiful dogs and great lifetime companions. A few things that Ive learned while training and raising my husky...

    Very VERY playful.

Need LOTS of exercise! Mine get walked 1 mile twice a day, and that's probably still not enough.

They need tons of mental stimulation, toys, obstacles, and treat balls.

Agility Training really helped with the constant energy.

Be careful Huskies sometimes have a tendency to be aggressive. Especially towards smaller animals, so address this quickly with puppy training. Any signs of aggression must be nipped in the bud.

My husky eats about 5 cups of food a day but some desire more.

    Hope this helps a little.<3

Huskies are great if your willing to put in the work. Mine is curled up next to me on the couch with the Air conditioner blasting him in the face. Fast asleep! Good Luck!

  5. well theres many things.

They are beautiful dogs. They have a nice temperment. Their very playfull and great with kids. Their a big baby, but when it comes to that point, they'll give their life for you. But they do need a little work. They usually dig alot. And when you walk them, they tend to pull alot. But overall their an AWESOME dog!! [ i usually like unique names for them too ]

  6. It's not the "best" things you should be interested in. There are plenty of good things about the breed, but these dogs aren't for everyone.

And getting one because you think they're pretty is about the worst reason to get a Siberian. Hundreds of Siberians end up in shelters/rescues every year because people got them thinking the breed was pretty, but didn't realize what they were getting into.

You need to understand that, yes, they are friendly, and beautiful, and funny, and energetic. But they also shed huge clumps of fur, will destroy your yard, require consistent exercise every day, and need someone who will obedience train them from day one.

They cannot be allowed off lead, and no good breeder will sell you a puppy without a securely fenced yard. The same goes for rescue.

Do your research on the breed before you decide to get one. They are not a Lab, or a good old hang-around-the-house kind of dog.

  7. i can't name just one thing about my husky.  he's my world.. i'd be lost without him.

I love how he smiles at me, nudges my bum with a toy when he wants to play, runs around my yard like he's on crack doing ridiculous things, the way his bright brown eyes are always staring at me, the way he boxes his paws at me when he doesn't want to move, the fun we have obedience training.

I love him.. all of him.. good and bad.. and believe me.. there's a lot of bad.. lol!

make sure you do your homework!!! i can't stress it enough! there are way too many huskies in rescues and shelters because people don't know what they're getting into. Just because they're gorgeous doesn't mean they aren't a handful!

so again, PLEASE make sure this is the dog you're wanting and you're ready to face the good and bad. .. no matter how much money it costs, or what they leave on your doorstep.. including kitties.

  8. I have a 7 month old black and white sibe with ice blue eyes. His name is Diesel and he means the world to me. He loves everyone in the family including my 2 cats which is suprising. He does require a lot of excercise and gets about 3 to 4 hours a day usually. He loves to play fetch but with firewood not sticks. He likes to be a show off. He is an all around great dog. He also doesn't bark but loves to sing "howl" from time to time. Husky's are great dogs but they do tire you out but i wouldn't change that for the world. Diesel says OWOOOOOOOOOO!
