  1. Titikaka lake is the highest boat sailing in the world, it is shared by Perú and Bolivia. I suggest you visit at first Machu Picchu in Cuzco (Qosqo in quechua local language, that means " world's navel"), then travel to Puno, where the lake is placed. You should take a boat to visit the Uros island, an extraordinary tribal society, that lives like its ancestrors; balsas de totora, typical boats handmade; Taquile island in Bolivia; Tiahuanaco ruins in Bolivia and Perú.

I reccomend plan your trip by Peruvian side, visit Nazca lines, Paracas Reserve, Manu Reserve, Colca canyon, Iquitos, Arequipa, Cuzco city and arounds, Iquitos (rain forest, in the Amazonas river), Huaraz (to do adventure sports, andinism, parapente, rock climbing)

  2. Visit the islands, buy souvenirs and take a boat ride on the kind of boat made from the tortora reeds. I understand that you can join tours that will let you even stay the night on the island, if you are adventurous and wish to do that.

  3. Look at the pretty lake & what it was named for, but avoid any of the caca that may be about!!!

  4. take a boat and look at the indigenous community that live there and learn from their culture. Its fascinating.

  5. Take a boat ride, visit the islands which are inhabited by Indigenous people.

  6. If possible, spend the night in Taquile Island.

They didn't actually have hotels when I went there so I spent my  time inside the house of local people.

I shared their food, cooked on wood fire.

Watching the night sky was an absolutely unforgettable experience.

Buy some of the typical pieces of clothes they sell there. They are made the traditional way, with an old fashioned loom.

    Enjoy your trip!
