  1. I play in 2-on-2 tournaments on the beach throughout the Summer. Oatmeal has never done me wrong, I don't use sugar, just oatmeal and milk.

It stays with me pretty well.  Of course gatorade while playing helps, too!

    Have fun at practice.

  2. just eat b/c breakfast is the most important meal of the day... maybe a smoothie or something

  3. You shouldn't eat anything heavy like a plate of bacon, eggs, and pancakes because you're just asking to become sick. Personally for me, eating fruit (bananas, strawberries, etc.) before practice gives me energy and doesn't make me sick.

  4. Whole grains, such as oatmeal or whole grain breads\granola.  No sugar added.  These are good energy sources that allow for long term activity with out energy spikes and pitfalls.

Stay away from fruits with lots of sugar.  They cause energy spikes and drop offs.  Bananas are the best source of potassium.  Apples, have a natural stimulant that is more affective then caffine.

Stay away from milk, this causes lactic acid build up, which contributes to the fatigue feeling you can get while exercising.

At practice and tournaments:  Bananas, trail mix, and lots of water.  Gatorade is good but drink water too.  I usually do a 50/50 mix of water and Gatorade.  No energy drinks or bars, they give you a huge energy boost, but then an equally huge energy drop off.  in 20 minutes you will feel more tired then you did before the energy bar or drink.

  5. maybe a banana, a cereal bar, anything nutritious that will energize you.

  6. maybe a gronola bar or a banana but definetley not milk or eggs
